Making UAM Accessible
Skybus aims to tackle the ultimate goal of electric air transport: mass commuting.
Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) vehicles have been making strides in recent years, with manufacturers now testing full-scale prototypes and piloting physical vehicles. As urban transport becomes increasingly congested, the need for alternative solutions has led to the development of numerous eVTOL concepts catering primarily to the luxury but not a mass marketmarket.

The project is funded by the UK Government’s Future Flight Initiative administered under Innovate UK, part of the UK’s Research and Innovation agency. We are working with a consortium that includes British aerospace giant GKN (developing the vehicle technology and operation), Swanson Aviation Consulting (advising on strategic eVTOL-specific issues), and Connected Places Catapult (analysing demand data and commercial viability).
